- Instructions for installing the patch:
-
- 1) Copy the .exe file (patch) into the top-level Air Warrior directory (where
- airwar2.exe exists)
- 2) Under the Windows Explorer (or via the File-Run command), execute the file. This
- will decompress the files into their appropriate locations.
- 3) That's it. When you run Air Warrior II , verify that the Front End (FE) version
- reports version 1.02b when you display the "About" box. You can do this by clicking
- on the sheep on the left side of the main airfield, or by using the right mouse button
- and choosing "About Air Warrior II...". If the version does not report 1.02b, the patch
- did not install properly. In the latter case verify that you installed it into the
- correct directory (top level directory, such as c:\kesmai\airwar2).
-
- Things Fixed in version 1.02b:
-
- 1) Fixed bug causing garbled CPIDs in certain situations.
-
- 2) Fixed bug that would cause in-flight disconnects.
-
- New Features in version 1.02a:
-
- 1) More visible planes. In Offline play up to 40 aircraft are now visible, Online
- visibility is host configurable up to 84 planes. On any given view there is still a
- 12 plane limit, but each view can have 12 different visible icons. Icon bias commands
- now work in offline play as well.
-
- 2) "What-if" missions where any country can have any type of plane is now supported in
- the mission editor.
-
- 3) The 'invite to squad' item on the right mouse button menu in the player list can now
- be used to create a new squadron.
-
- 4) New explosion animations.
-
- 5) Full Screen Text Buffer. The F12 key now toggles a full screen text buffer which is
- visible in the forward view.

-
- 19) The second hat switch on the CH CombatStick can now be mapped to functions
- different from the first hat. Use the KeyMap utility to change the bindings for the
- HAT2* inputs.
-
- 20) Points now awarded for field resupply.
-
- 21) WWI fields report 'Under attack' messages only when enemy planes are truly close. All
- arenas now have host configurable warning distances.
-

-
- 23) Drone gunners in offline play have parachutes.
-

-
- 31) Implemented PageUp and PageDown key support in the following places:
- Kill Board dialog, Roster Dialog, and Reference page screens.
-
- Things fixed in version 1.01a:
-
- 1) Corrected plane shape loading at long range.
- 2) The gun volume now goes down when lethality drops. In addition, the cannon sound
- drops out once the cannon has run out of ammo. This uses the front end data, so it
- depends on the FE and host being synced.
- 3) Fixed Mosquito lethality.
- 4) Improved stall onset force feedback effect.
- 5) Reset force feedback during continuous battle restart to avoid stick getting
- stuck in crash feel.
- 6) Fixed Me262 plane shape (should fix the some crashes occuring when people flew jets)

- 9) You can now turn on and off individual engines in flight.
- Command: <ESC>g
- By itself, it will tell the user which engines are on. If followed by a
- number (1, 2, 3, etc.) it will toggle the status of that engine (i.e. turn
- it on if it was off, and vice-versa.)
- 10) Help is now working in the plane selection dialog. Also, AWII no longer gets
- stuck on the task bar if you select help from that dialog.
- 11) If sound files are not available, the checkboxes will be disabled in the
- custom sound setup dialog.
- 12) The Me110 is now classified as a fighter.
- 13) WWI planes no longer lose their gear if started in flight.
- 14) There is now default cockpit art for jets (P-51) and WW1 planes (the Camel.)
- 15) The Air Warrior II Online installer now updates the airwar2.ini file during an
- install. This should cut down on the problems where people delete their directories
- manually and then install into another directory, leaving the INI file pointing to
- the wrong place.
- 16) Reduced gunner joystick sensitivity and turret rotation rates.
- 17) Increased gear lock and bomb release feel effects.
- 18) Fixed C Land HQ for 640x480 resolution.
- 19) Garage is not floating in the water anymore in Real-Time Europe
- 20) In Real-Time Pacific, one field was renamed to MacCall field since it was
- in there twice.
- 21) F9 will write the message "User indicated sound failure" to the Ksound logging
- file when pressed during any part of the game (the logging version of KSOUND.DLL
- must be used to actually have the message appear in a file).
